At Rob Cary Pet Resort, our top priority is to provide your pets with a safe, caring place to stay. Of course, knowing exactly what to look for when you board your dog can be a challenge. Thankfully, in today’s post we’re sharing a few things to keep in mind. Keep reading to learn more!

Plan Ahead
Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to find the right place to board your dog. Check out a few different options and compare them based on what you’re looking for in a boarding facility. If your ultimate goal is to find the safest place possible for your dog, then definitely check that task off your list first!

See How Your Pets Interact With New Spaces
It’s also important to find out how the dogs are grouped to see if your dog will be comfortable. If they’re all in one large space, it can be more difficult for them to have their own personal space. Same goes with individual cages! No matter what types of spaces are provided, just make sure that your pets can see and smell other dogs in order to feel comfortable being away from you.

Consider a One-Night Stay
One way to ensure your dogs are comfortable is to board them before you leave. This gives them time to explore their surroundings and rest comfortably in their new space. If you see that they’re fine with it then it’s a sign that they’ll have no trouble being away from you for a longer stretch of time.

Provide Necessary Info
Bring their food, health, veterinarian information, bed, and favorite toys when you drop off your dog for boarding. Leave current contact information, as well as a backup contact number. Keep farewells brief and sweet when you leave.
